West End Tavern is looking for a talented, driven and enthusiastic SOUS CHEF.

Named “Best Bar” by 5280 Magazine and The Daily Camera as well as “One of the Top 10 New Restaurants in Denver”, and awarded 'Best BBQ' in Boulder by Boulder Weekly, this American Tavern has been a Boulder tradition for decades…while consistently reinventing itself. West End Tavern’s chefs create delicious, home-style cuisine that features Boulder’s best BBQ, juicy burgers, fantastic salads and creative daily specials.

We are on the search for the best candidates; energetic, knowledgeable and a natural passion for the guest experience. A personality that engages and wants to continue learning is an ideal fit.

What we expect:

  • Sous Chef reports directly to and collaborates with the Chef and General Manager
  • Knowledge and experience to contribute to the success of a busy kitchen.
  • BBQ experience a plus
  • Seafood knowledge - handling and butchery.
  • Train, mentor and help lead our kitchen
  • Be accountable, do what you say, get it done.
  • Manage equipment and facilities.
  • Extreme passion around cooking and serving outstanding food every time without exception.
  • Highly pro appearance and attitude. Ready, willing and able to collaborate, work and learn in a team environment. No baggage, this is a drama free zone.


  • Minimum of two years in kitchen management position
  • Minimum of two years in a food preparation position
  •  Basic finance skills with an understanding of weekly budgets, costed menus and schedules.
  •  Ability to handle the requirements of a Chef's job which includes bending, reaching, standing for long periods of time and carrying and lifting heavy and really hot stuff!
  •  ServSafe Manager Certification (we’ll train you!)
  •  First Aid and CPR Certified (we’ll train you!)
  •  Integrity, intelligence, honesty and a willingness to learn, dig in, and be world famous.

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
